Charting new Career directions These days, the world of work is fraught with uncertainties brought about by globalization, privatization, technological innovations and increased competition. During times of economic uncertainty, even the most caring companies may find it inevitable to implement some form of downsizing for the overall well-being, indeed even survival of the organization. For those who lose their jobs, the traditional retrenchment benefits, more often than not, do not go far enough to alleviate the anguish and financial hardships that follow. CARING AND SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE organizations can and should do more for the staff that they have no choice but to let go. How? Assistance in placement can also be provided by our executive search and placement partners. The purpose of our outplacement services is to provide help to individuals who are undergoing a career transition, usually as a result of redundancy. Our role is to equip the individual with the mental preparedness and skills to successfully attain his or her next position (or to start a mall business) in the shortest possible time.
Looking Ahead For organizations that may find the outplacement cost too high because of the large number of employees involved, group workshop sessions can be organized for those activities that are considered to be not so confidential or sensitive. Our“LOOKING AHEAD” course is specially developed and designed to assist those who are about to leave or have just left their jobs to start anew in the shortest possible time. It is ideally suited for companies involved in a voluntary separation exercise where a large number of staff is expected to leave and comprise topics such as the power of positive paradigm, financial planning, job search techniques, and starting my own business.
Managing The Challenge The separation exercise has just been completed. It’s effect, however, will continue to be felt for quite sometime. Staff who have applied to leave and whose applications have been rejected are bound to feel disappointed and, very likely, even angry. There is now fewer staff at the branch/department, but business/work has to go on as if nothing has happened. There will be reassignment of duties and responsibilities and some staff will be required to assume increased workloads. In such a situation, therefore, managers may not be adequately prepared and equipped to face the challenge. Hence this course "Managing The Challenge” is available. |
